Dunedin Drive

Over winter down here in the deep south we’ve really been pretty slack. About all that’s been going on is the occasional email and phone call to see what people are up to. In about June or July, both Jason and myself made up our own oversized supercharger pulleys - basically modeled off the HKS equivalent. Jason tested it out on his car first and a couple of weeks later I decided I wanted one too!! Makes the car a whole different beast - fantastic stuff! Any questions give me a call or send me an email. Heaps cheaper than getting one in from the States. Jason has also done some exhaust modifications recently. He has changed his exhaust system to have a pipe on each side - making use of the MKII’s exhaust tips.

With summer starting to roll around (well it started and then sort of took a few steps back!!), we are planning to get a few more events in. A grasskarna would be great but as yet we haven’t found a venue! (there was a suggestion of using the Dunedin Oval but I don’t know if that would go down too well..) Definitely a few Sunday BBQ’s are in order and recruiting a few new members! Anyway, here’s a bit of a write up on what we’ve been doing lately.

Quick Blast - 19 October.

Well, this was a bit of a last minute decision, the weather was great, the car was clean! - had to go for a drive. Unfortunately I couldn’t get hold of everyone at such late notice so it ended up just being three cars - two Mk1 Superchargers and a Mk1 N/A. Jason and I took our SC’s for a quick blast over a thin, tight, twisty road just up the back of North East Valley down to Sawyers Bay and then headed into town to pick up Maureen and her N/A. Then it was a bit more sedate Sunday drive right out the peninsula to the Albatross Colony. A few photos there and it was back into town via a Café in Portobello for coffee and scones! Excellent day, excellent drive.
