I have been a bit of an enthusiast for cars
all my life but have only
owned somewhat "standard" vehicles (Corona, Escort, Commodores, HZ auto
Kingswood Station Wagon, Mitsubishi Chariot and Mirage and a Nissan
Serena). With 2 of my children having left home and another 2 leaving
in
a year or so, I wanted to own something different.
My ideas started with classic Fords - MKI or MKII Cortina or MKIII
Zephyr or Zodiac. I drove a '65 Zodiac and it was not at all like what
I
remember - I guess cars have improved over the last 40 years or so!
I started following MR2s on TradeMe. Then I found one at a local car
yard with a price somewhere near the TradeMe prices. I drove it and one
thing led to another.... A lot more fun than the Zodiac and about half
the price.
So my MR2 is a red 1993 G-Limited NA model. The only modification I
have
(as far as I know) is an immobilizer (required by my insurance
company).
I am interested in keeping the car in good original condition as far as
possible - no expensive modifications!
