I'm not an experienced mechanic by any means. In fact
the last
car I did any
serious work on was my old 1972 Vauxhall Viva.
I was getting tired of paying extortionist fees for
minor work
on my current
car, so I decided to buy a "project car" that I could work on and
learn from the ground up. After putting nearly 30,000km on the clock of
my
trusty old NA, I came across a tidy turbo, also in black. After
weighing up the
cost of all the modifications I wanted for my NA, like a paint respray,
engine
rebuild, head porting etc, I knew it was still never going to be as
powerful as
a turbo, and this one seemed to be in excellent condition with only
65,000km on
the dial, so I upgraded.
Here's the current configuration of my MR2. It's still
pretty
straight with
very few modifications which is the way I wanted it, so I knew where I
was
starting from.
