Wellington Drives

I must first appologise to Grant and Damon for taking so long to get this out, so here it is. The day started with a quick drive into Wellington and around to Oriental Parade looking for any thing that may resemble another club members. Only knowing Grant and his car I was starting to think I had missed everyone when I saw Grant go past. After chasing him down the road we finally parked somewhere that we should get noticed. Not long after that we were joined by Damon. When all the usual car inspections had finished and also waiting until after three o’clock for other signs of life, we decided to cruise up to Porirua to the drags. We had got there and just missed watching a Ford Pop doing a roll down the strip. Watched a good days racing including someone in the family Subaru Legacy. Yes, it was rather fast!

After seeing Ian Taylor do a very quick time in his Dodge Viper the racing finished with Darren doing a most impressive burnout in his Holden Torana. To finish off the day we all went back into Wellington and went to the South of the Border Mexican restuarant for nachoes and a Guiness. A very good day out had by us all, but we really need more members to show up, including more suggestions on things to do.
