Silvertop no spark no start
Afternoon gents, I have a silvertop 4age Aw11 that won't start. Will happily crank and turn over all day but refuses to fire. I replaced the dizzy, suspecting that to be the root of the issue but no dice. I have also inspected the ECU and everything appears intact, no leaking caps. Does anyone have any ideas? In Central Auckland. Cheers

Check for codes from the ecu by jumpering the pins in the diagnostics connector. (E1 & TE1 i think, but do a search and check)
Jumper the fuel pump on and try starting it again. (FP and B+ in diagnostic connector)
Put a timing light on the ignition coil lead and see if its even trying to spark.

Re: Silvertop no spark no start
make sure that the fuel pump relay operates from the MAF ( flap opens slightly )
do you have spark ?
you can try some engine start in the air in take when cranking .
has it run before in the car ?

Anyone local to Central (I'm in Remuera / Meadowbank) want to come have a squizz? Box of beers to whoever solves the mystery.

Re: Silvertop no spark no start
Sorted it myself, feeling quite foolish; culprit was a couple of toasted fuses that I could have changed last week.... doyyy

Re: Silvertop no spark no start
Hm all is not happy in the land of AW11, it is eating fuses now! Whoever installed the motor has a custom fusebox inline with the ignition system, it pops 10 15 20 v fuses every time I crank.
I had to cut some wires and bypass it completely and even with my incredibly hori connection the car started and ran enough to get home.
thoughts? Pics to come tomorrow

Custom fuse box? You're gonna have to trace them wires to see what's causing the fuses to pop.

My thoughts as wellStatek wrote:Custom fuse box? You're gonna have to trace them wires to see what's causing the fuses to pop.
standard fuse box works with no mods needed .
As above hope its a easy find
