I got a single port slave cylinder as well (and related issues https://mr2.org.nz/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=16086 ) and the whole extended push rod etc. etc.

While I still have some issues with the gear selection occasionally (which I believe are cable related) I initially had problems which appear to have been related to the clutch engagement height.

Great ingenuity - i did come across this, solved with an extended pushrod and it seems fine to me now. Love the fix though

I broke a spring keeper when I was sold a cheap POS clutch plate. Possibility?
Could very much be this - When I bought my engine in 2020 it came with a clutch that we didn't know what brand it is, just that it had done <5000kms, so I chucked it in. I have a feeling it's something like this. What did you experience when it was bad?

Mine was pretty bad. You could change gears but you had to start the car in 1st. There was no neutral.

Put the single port in using the pushrod TCS supplies. Then started having issues - Munching the bleed nipple didn't help. But no, I installed the extended rod only after I swapped the slave. I had to get it from someone local.

That would mean the clutch is not a stock unit or rated at stock pressure.
I'm going to get one made just in case but then I have a standard clutch so may not even need it.

Good that you got it working. Be gentle with your nipples!
