Post by [email protected] »

Is there anyone in NZ that does this engine swap? And is it hard to get the engine here?

2zz's are fairly commonly available from wreckers
there NOT cheap .. but they are a fantastic engine :D
as for the swap .. its been done before
just need to make new mounts and .. use the 2zz box .. and mod the cables to suit

sounds easy .. but you need real fab skills and a eye for process to pull conversions off
if you lack these .. then its not worth considering

Is your 1zz stuffed? if not then you may be better off going turbo.

My engine cost around $1200 - Used standard 5 speed box. You can get parts i.e. header, mounts, etc from states. Wiring is hard - Get apexi if you can afford it. I used celica CPU - Budget at least 7k before going ahead if you plan a garage to do the work and get parts from the states.

Go to www.spyderchat.com for heaps of info on 2zz conversions.

Try www.turbokits.com for 1zz Turbo's
