Make sure those little screws are loctited in. You wouldn't want them floating around amongst the valve springs

I'm so behind on these updates!!

Installing the crank position sensor and cam belt guide on the GEN4 3SGTE. I'm not sure what the tab actually does as it's not on the older engine designs. But on it goes anyway.

Installing the GEN4 3SGTE fuel injectors and fuel rail. Place the injector nose seal on, grease up the O ring and insert into the fuel rail. Then place on the head with the plastic spacers at each of the 3 bolts. Then torque down to 20Nm.

Attempts were made to hammer the bearing off the E153 axle but after 33 years it's rusted in place. Even hitting with an excessively large sledge hammer did nothing so out came the grinder!

Cut the outer shell off, cut the ball cage off, cut the inner shell off but make sure not to cut the axle itself. When I got close to the axle the shell actually made an audible crack and I felt it as I was holding the axle just after making another small cut. That was definitely nice to have happen. Then I cut the other side and hit it with a chisel to break it open.

The new bearing, I'll heat up and drop it over the axle so I don't have to press it on.

Cleaning up the E153 axles for repainting. Sanding and wire wheel to remove the paint and rust. Still a little more work to do before painting. I'll most likely get a good primer and then a 2K spray can made up to have a durable paint instead of a store bought cheap paint.

Dirty and rusty engine mounts I got with the E153 gearbox. I'll clean them up, remove the rust, paint them and use them. I do actually already have 4x GT/Turbo mounts on the 3SGE right now. I will need to reuse the left and right rubber mounts.

I believe my rear mount is torn but I run Kirk inserts so that helps a bit here but this one is still good so should be better.

Back in May I started a bit of prep work on the SW20 rear knuckles. Removing the old manky dust shields which makes it FAR easier to press out the hub and bearing.

These might be the same part as the mR2 has on them now but they are from a GT/Turbo so have the hubs that have the compatible spline for the E153 axles. These are also drilled for ABS so I could in the future use it for traction control or similar.

I decided these would be best to prepare properly with new bearings (even though they seem perfectly fine) and fresh paint and some other parts instead of wait to take my NA ones out and do the exact same preparation and take longer. These will be ready to just bolt in after the engine and gearbox is put in place.

Installing the new GEN4 3SGTE HFHOE (Hose From Hell On Earth) and new hose clamps. This is the coolant return hose from the oil cooler. All I need to do now is pull the little grenade pins to lock the clamps in place.

The reason I have gone for new clamps vs refurbishing the existing ones is because spring steel could become brittle with nitrogen embrittlement that I could counter with baking in the oven for a while but I only have a good oven so not able to. These new ones are finished in a bunch of colours and textures so breaks up the gold and silver look.
