That harness looks so tidy, good job. Will be great to see it in the car.

Re: flying_wedge's 2zzge AW11
Oh joy - Photobucket has knocked "3rd Party Hosting" on the head, so all the photos of this build have disappeared
Consigned to the pages of history I think.
Charlie might yet get his way for me to use the photo hosting option of the forum
Anyhow, back on topic, long time with no update on my AW11 - but lots has continued to happen in the last year or so.
Not sure if there's any interest in what I get up to MR2 related or the issues I'm having and needing to be overcome.
I'll post up an update if there is.

certainly keen to hear about whats going on with the car! What you've done so far was a great inspiration for me to jump on the 2zz band wagon.

Re: flying_wedge's 2zzge AW11
Isn't the photobucket thing a massive PITA? Pretty sure I've been using it for over 10 years now so it's a bit disappointing for them to do this. I can see the point that they're probably spending a lot on providing hosting for images that never lead to any ad revenue for them, but I can't imagine that this move is going to do anything to get them any more users.
Anyway back to MR2s... I'm always keen to see what you're up to Mark, your's is one of the more interesting and unique AW11 builds on here

Yes please Mark. In fact you can edit your posts (being a club member) so feel free to drag-drop some of the missing photos onto your older posts if you have the inclination. At least a few of the more strategic ones, cos that would be AWesome.flying_wedge wrote:Charlie might yet get his way for me to use the photo hosting option of the forum
Damn right there is. Geeez...flying_wedge wrote:Not sure if there's any interest in what I get up to MR2 related...

Re: flying_wedge's 2zzge AW11
OK, OK, all old photos in this thread are updated and showing again
Added benefit of higher definition hosted here than Photobucket, so that's a plus.
It's almost a year and a half since the last update when it wasn't even running, such a lot has changed and boy is it fun to drive.
Now I've sorted the photos and ditched Photobucket I'll get onto the real changes in the last 18 months.

Re: flying_wedge's 2zzge AW11
Such a long long long time since I've updated this.
Yes, I still have the wedge.
Yes, it's still 2zz powered.
Yes, I've continued to tweak and change this since 2015 when it last had an update here.
Can't believe it's been 9 years haha
Here is a snapshot run through in images of the last 9 years.
Any detail anyone wants on anything inparticular just ask
Dyno plot, ~150wkw
S2000 seats
Wall of inspiration in the garage
Oil cooler behind the side vent fan that comes on when water temp is 80 deg
Some local MR2 run in 2017
Mark and Simon
Engine cover side panel vents direct from Sho-Z in Japan, cheers mate
Track days in 2017
Toms C2r rims and their progression from stock, to split and 2-piece rims made into 3-piece rims
Dyno day in Ashburton, 2018
180 km/h upgrade to 240 km/h with all my 2zz power
Broken sway bar end link almost drove me off the road mid corner, mid hill run...
Local run in 2018
MRP coilover upgrades over the BC Golds. Yes, I would swap these out in a heartbeat again
LED turn signals in the stock side mirrors? Yeah let's go. None of the finished product oddly
Local run in 2019
Current interior state in 2019
WOF time. Featuring hapers hatch
Full body loom wiring swap. Man, what a ***** of a job. Trying to fix ghost wiring issues i've had for a while now, bad grounds, weird things with power to the dash, starter relay not consistently getting power, etc.
local run in 2020
I made a bunch of suspension adjustments and improvements to dial out the bump steer, on both front and rear. Full write up on facebook somewhere
Time to go back to stock rubber mounts from poly. These matrix garage poly mounts did not last long... they slogged out big time via the carrier. Went for stock honda mounts which were slightly oversized but pressed in ok and redrilled mount to take larger diameter bolt
Evening drives, 2020. Just getting out and enjoying it
local club run, 2021
AGM, 2021
Just getting out and enjoying it in 2021, part 2
Fixing the front lip for rigidity and strength
Looks like i've hit the photo upload limit for this post.
This post was bought to you by the phrase "better late than never" as it's been almost a decade since an update

Re: flying_wedge's 2zzge AW11
More driving time, 2021
Track day 2021
Dyno refinement
Drives, meets, wheels, etc 2022
Heater core back to stock position, extra storage loaded with a storage cubby
And as I'm getting an old man these days, we dynamat install to save the ears
More 2022 and 2023 drives and club runs
Interior as it currently sits, different shifter setup placing shifting right by your hand on the wheel.
S2000 seats are still a great fit, and comfy as
And how the wedge currently sits
And with that, we're all up to date.
9 years in a couple of quick image update posts.
Cheers team.
Not sure how many sign in and check out these threads these days, but old images and content of my own car sometimes gets posted back to me on facebook so I'm sure there will be some of yas.
These days, I still have mods and upgrades planned and in the works (as I always have) but have the car mostly the way I want it and just enjoy evening and weekend drives, and the occasional blat into town running errands etc.
Thanks for reading and getting up to date

Engine side vent covers are sick, I'd never seen that style before
