Service recommendations in Palmerston North

Post by Mr Shiny »

Hoping there's some good service places in the area. I don't want to take my SW to just anyone, but somewhere that knows them or even good at turbos & tuning.
I haven't driven my SW much for some time now & I went for a blast the other day & have a problem. Not being mechanically minded I'm not sure of the exact term, but it seems to stutter/hesitate when boosting. Only notice it when in 3rd from about 80kmh to 100kmh. I've read it could be a boost leak? Not sure, so hope to get it sorted before next Manawatu run!

When I had this issue it turned out to be a vacuum leak in one of the lines off the turbo but mine was in every gear not just 1

This, the one underneath the throttle body people will bend sharply. I had a friend that did it to me (they bought me a new set), had the same symptoms and it would occasionally miss at idle. I temp fixed it by pushing the lead back into the plug

I took it to Elite on Monday & it is a misfire problem. They have gone over everything & replaced just about everything as it's all still original parts. Got the call this afternoon that it's ready & he was really impressed how well it goes, even for an old car!
