Obituary Kaye Harris

Post by Curly »

Today we have learned of the sad and very sudden passing of Kaye Harris.

She was a very active member in our club, having spent time on Committee and as Area Coordinator. Kaye was a current Committee Member.

Kaye and Cedric have been members since 2003

I think the first time I met her was at the 2005 MegaRun in Dunedin. Kaye took her Spyder, and Cedric rode his motorbike with a lot of gear, because there wasn't enough room for all their needs, for a long weekend.

Kaye would always be on the lookout for other MR2's on the road, and never missed an opportunity to tell them about the Club.

She was a very keen driver and very proud owner of her red Porsche as well as her yellow Spyder. She has also had AW11's and SW20's.

Kaye was a very deserving recipient of many Show n Shine awards.

Kaye lived life to the full. She wouldn't think twice about going for a 1,000k (each way) drive to the top of the North Island, just to look at a car.

We will miss her bubbly personality.

Our thoughts go out to Cedric and daughter Rachael, and grand children

RIP Kaye. Gone far too young, aged 51

I'm shocked. Not sure what to say. We always had a good yarn and lots of laughs. Never got the chance to give a her a run but I'm sure I would have come 2nd best.

What a lovely write-up Pam.

I didn't know Kaye all that well but I have had the privilege of being on Committee with her for a couple of years, and I must say her sense of humour and her common sense were always highly valued will be very sadly missed. The world is a poorer place for her loss.

My condolences to Cedric and family. RIP Kaye.

I'm still in shock at what has happened. Can't make the funeral but we should send a card and flowers on behalf on MR2OCNZ. I'll draft up something for Committee aproval if you could arrange Pam.

Only just found out about this now. Very sorry to hear that. I never had the honor of meeting her. Far too young to go though.
I would agree with sending the flowers and card.

That's a real nice offer Jim. :)

I'm guessing Pam knew Kaye better than the rest of us though? If she wanted to sort a card and flowers on behalf of the Club that'd be fine by me, if it's ok by you? They shared the same surname and referred to each other as "sister"... And Pam's been sharing committee responsibilities with Kaye forever more or less...

I can't imagine the rest of committee having any problem with it if you are agreeable mate...?
